valve clearance @10,75mm lift - OPINONS wanted

......it never snows in southern california BUT it does here! HOWEVER it gives us time to look in to other things: I just measured the following:
cyl. 1: 0,2 EX/0,13 IN // cyl. 2: 0,2 EX/0,135 IN // cyl 3: 0,23EX/0,115 IN // cyl 4: 0,2 EX/0,15 IN - it ain't all that bad is it????? cheers - after a lovely diner and many a slug of tuscan wine: cheers sandy - pls comment PS - my 701 steel/forged will go to 8000 if she wants to scream that loud!!! the swiss somehow can't appreciate me THAT much :roll: sandy

Personally I would use 0.23mm to 0.25mm on exhausts and 0.18 to 0.20mm on inlets.

thanks rohan - my S1 manual has 5/100 mm less for both sides and miles wilkins book has IN and EX closer together BUT i guess the high lift is what you're referring to?! alpine greetings sandy PS - i hope my set of tappets (50 to 60) will get me closer!

The Lotus original clearance specification changed from the early to later engines for some reason - maybe a valve material change, maybe a cam grind change , may be just operational experience.

With your modified cam you can consult the cam grinder on their recommended clearances but the numbers I provided work for most modified cams and engines that are used hard compared to the standard engine.
