maybe someone less close to australia can sell me a can of this sealant. they don't sell it in europe as far as my investigation shows. rohan was writing in such a favourable fashion that I also wanna follow that path once we get some real snow (leads also to salt-dust all over the f place) - sometimes we can hit the road again in february if it rains enough (that sounds terrible, even to a scottsman) cheers sandy

It is made by a good German chemical company - Henkel - so it must be available in Europe somewhere - it may be sold under the Permatex brand name

As far as I can see from the permatex website, in Germany the distributor is STiXX GmbH in Munich, on their web site I found the american catalogue:
http://www.stixx.com/index.php/produkte/produktkataloge

And there it states that they have all but the "No Touch" available, limited by minimum orders.
And your requested sealant (order number 80018) is on page 18 of this (US) catalogue
http://www.stixx.com/images/stories/pro ... atalog.pdf
You should give them a call ... if they state unacceptable minimum order quantities, maybe ask for a customer/reseller who buy these in quantities and you could buy from.
And they are only 200km away ...

This Permatex is the same as the Loctitie No3 aviation gasket sealant and what I use on cork and paper gaskets in a twin cam.

try this web site
http://www.loctite.ch/de/5907_CHG_HTML.htm?

there will be a local supplier in Switzerland or close over the border in Germany or France or Italy depending on where in Switzerland you are located for all your needs

Looctite 574 is the factory choice for sealing metal to metal faces, on Rotax aero engines, and will seal up to 0.010" gap. I have used it extensively on twin can front covers as well as my Rotax 912 without problems.

Sandy,

I spoke to Loctite UK (Henkel Ltd) with respect to Rohans recommended grade and was advised that the closest product in Europe is SI 5922. The package is in two languages, English, and what I think is German. Sold by Halford in the UK.

The German address is

Henkel Ag & Co. KGaA,
Standort Munchen,
GutenbergstraBe 3,
D-85748 Garching.

Tel: +49 89 92680

Interestingly the man I spoke to at Loctite UK recommended their SI5910 which is a silicone rubber. Rohans advice from a couple of days ago is not to use silicone as it is easy to use too much and have it circulating with the oil and getting into places where it can block oil supply.
