Oil return pipe

PostPost by: Uboat » Wed May 13, 2015 12:11 pm

Hi,
I exchanged the oil return pipe with a new rubber item from one of the usual suppliers. However, there is still a leak dripping down on the starter and then the floor, so I will go back to the old metal pipe with new o-rings. As you can see from the tilt in the picture, one of the surfaces is not perpendicular to the head or the block and it seems to me that this will cause a leak, although it looks like the pipe manufactured this way.... Are the surfaces on the block and head not parallel?

That is a home made tube, the head and the block are parallel with each other so have no idea why someone made it like that  did you rotate the rubber tube when you had it in place? they sometime dont locate too well and rotating usually seats it.
Have you checked it is not the petrol pump that is leaking oil from its mounting?

Thanks Brian,
i will check the fuel pump mount. It is not easy accessible. Really strange to find the drain pipe surface slant. I will rotate the rubber tube
