Did anyone ever try K Seal to fix a leaking water pump?

Thanks,

Used it for radiator leaks and it is very good not failed to work on a variety of cars but I think the water pump might be asking a lot

I tried some with an engine that had a cracked head......it probably slightly improved it for about two weeks then the symptoms reappeared but what it did do was gunge up all the waterways in a similar manner to this thread

although it was with a blue antifreeze, took ages to get all the rubbish out of the engine even with stripping.
I think it unlikely it would help with a leaking water pump anyway and my advice is dont do it!

Evening Dave, Yes Ive used it. I would agree with the others it can cause problems. It does appear very effective but I think you can 'overdose' with it. It stopped the leak on my VW but sealed up galleries and the like. It took ages to flush it out of the system. Use sparingly
all the best

I would imagine that it would probably seal the tell-tale drain hole iunder the waterpump pulley. Which would stop the apparent leak, But then coolant would be getting past the spinning water seal and attacking the waterpump bearing, eventually the bearing will fail and water will come out of the front of the pump. Dangerously depleting the coolant.

That tell-tale hole is there for a reason, it tells you when it is time to fit a new water pump.
