I have just purchased the product listed below on e bay, it looks like the Loctite product you use and can be purchased in Oz, however unobtainable in the UK.

What do you think for the timing chain case cover ?
Also I have "Permatex Gasket sealant High tack" for sump and timing chain back plate, see below

These two products look acceptable solutions for a twin cam rebuild

The Permatex products are made by Henkel who are also the makers of Loctite products. So the Permatex No3 Aviation gasket product will be the same as its Loctite equivalent and the high tack product is similar and just a "stickier" version I believe though I have never used it. If you leave the No3 gasket sealer for a little while after you apply it then it becomes very tacky also and sticks the gaskets in place well.
I would use either on the faces of paper or cork gaskets in the engine. The high tack version being most useful on the sump gasket to help prevent it being squeezed ou.

I would not use them on the metal to metal join on the front timing cover but would prefer the red anerobic gasket forming products from Loctite.and which I presume are also sold under the Permatex brand in the UK.
cheers

I used "Threebond" motorcycle case sealer for the gasket less sealing front cover and also to attach the cork cam cover gasket to the cover while I used grease on the other side of it. I used to fool with racing motorcycles and fell in love with the case bond. I've used lots of Permatex gasket maker over the years as well and on my twin cam also. Paper gasket front timing case to block and pan gasket's.
My recommendation!!
