TTR Fast Road Exhaust

Having bought the TTR Fast Road exhaust from Colin I've been doing some reading regarding fitting it (it won't be here until next week). Searching through the forums I've come across posts regarding fitting the competition version, but there is little info on the TTR website regarding the specs/differences between it and this Fast Road version. I understand that there are clearance issues with the competition version, but could anyone with experience tell me whether I should expect the same problems? I really don't want to be cutting up the footwell, so if that's what I'm facing, it'll be a non starter.
Also, regarding the silencer, it's the TTR Fast Road transverse S1-3 version. Now I am wondering whether that will be a straight forward fit, or require modifications to the body.
Any info and help greatly appreciated.
I know I should've researched all of this before buying, but I was silly to assume it would be more straight forward.
Regards,
Adi

Thank you for that Rob!
Really happy to hear it. Only info I could find was about the competition manifolds and it had me a bit concerned as the last thing I want to do is cut into the freshly redone fibreglass.
I have the chassis cut out, so, hopefully, no problems there.

Adi, it doesn't fit at all. I'll save you! Sell it to me!
Ha! Just joking.
Actually, if your car is an S1, and S2, or an S3 the muffler and tailpipe section should work very well. The muffler itself is the same size as an original, only the inlet pipe and tail pipe are larger in diameter.
The intermediate pipe should also work although you may have to perform some minor trimming and / or some minor bending. it might be worth taking it to a expert muffler shop. as they would have the equipment to form or bend the pipe as necessay. Also, your existing clamps and hangars may not work with the larger diameter pipe.
As for the headers, the rear most pipe gets pretty close to the firewall. You may consider installing some sort of heat shield or barrier against the firewall. You may also have to trim the frame and the weld in gussets where the the trimming took place to put the frame strength back in. This would be due to the larger diameter header pipes.
So there is a slight chance it could bolt in but there is a bigger chance it will fit with some frame cutting, frame welding, pipe bending, larger diameter hangars, and the use of a lift.
Now for the serious stuff. If you find some of this is not to your liking, I really would like to purchase it from you for my 26R. Seriously!
Best of luck,

Thank you Frank, I really appreciate the advice.
I am prepared for anything except for cutting into the body. I have a really friendly mechanic/restoration shop who work on my car and I'll seek their help with any engineering challenges and pipe bending.
I bookmarked a place selling heat shielding someone recommended on here a while ago, so I will order a sheet of it before installation.
I've been meaning to install a larger bore exhaust system for a while since a rolling road showed my engine is being held back by the current system, so when Colin advertised his TTR set I jumped on it.
If the plans change I'll let you know!

Only received the exhaust on Friday, so not yet. I arranged with my friendly mechanic to enlarge the cutout on the chassis and weld the strengthening based on photos I found on the forum. I ordered titanium wrap and heat shielding, should be here tomorrow, and already got the large bore gaskets and K nuts. I still need to paint the manifold with ceramic paint and cure it in the oven, probably tomorrow. So, fingers crossed, it should all be in the car by the end of the week.
It's interesting to see just how much larger the connecting and the silencer pipes are. I already have a larger manifold, so the difference there isn't huge, but the rest of it is massive. The exhaust tip itself is nearly double the diameter. I can completely understand why the rolling road man thought my car was being held back by it.

Thought to dig this up to update regarding the TTR exhaust.
It fits perfectly fine! In fact, it clears the chassis better than my previous overbore, but to original pattern, exhaust did. So my small cutout on the chassis was more than adequate, which was a surprise.
The manifold clears the bulkhead and the footwell fine too, and with the titanium wrap and the heat shielding, it's still not touching anywhere. I had K nuts fitted, and the last couple of bolts had to be trimmed, but overall it sits in there perfectly well.
The crossbrace was a problem though, and had to be removed, (and refitted afterwards, of course), in order to fit the manifold in there. Lifting the engine didn't help, so this was the only option.
The centre pipe didn't need any bending, but it was much too long and needed cutting down. There were no issues with the rear silencer box.
The car looks and sounds quite a bit more serious now. It will need setting up on the rolling road again though, as it pops and bangs quite a bit now, but that was to be expected. Power wise, it seems much freer at high revs and pulls like a train, but only a dyno will be able to tell me exactly what's what.
