Removing inlet camshaft

Hi I need to adjust the tappets on the inlet valves the exhausts are spot on.This is what I had in mind No 1 piston set to TDC on the firing stroke cable tie the camchain onto both sprockets slacken off the chain adjuster then release the bolt holding the inlet sprocket take off the sprocket then take out the camshaft
I will need to tie up the inlet sprocket and attached chain out of the way but have I got the room to get the camshaft out? Not worked on a twincam for nearly 30 years so I am a bit rusty.
I wish I had all this info when I had my first Elan 40 years ago great website.
