Will it be big enough?
In my OGU thread You can see pictures of an oil catch system I made up from standard plumbing tube.and an aluminium drink bottle.

Since then I've done just over 500 miles,
I cleaned the bottle out last weekend with the pump of an old liquid soap dispensor. The catch bottle contained about 30 cc of oily water. Yes WATER.. I was surprised.

Thats a water/oil seperator for an air compressor line unless my eyes decieve me, not even a period one and would not only look out of place but not do the job you are hoping it would.
Usually there is a block of sintered material that the air under high pressure will pass but not liquids in suspension, it will be little different to blocking off your breather completely.
Unless someone has removed the sintered filter and are marketting it as a breather, still think that it would be a chocolate teapot though.

Are you sure that is not contributing to your oil leaks due to restricting the crankcase breathing and causing a pressure build up due to its small size/volume/breathing capability?

Yes. It has only been on a few hours! The leaks have been present since I bought the car in September.
It is not very restrictive at all as it happens.
