What size oil filter

PostPost by: yellowelan » Thu Jul 25, 2013 4:29 pm

Could someone tell me the right size canister Ryco filter for the elan? I've emailed Ryco and they couldn't find it in there database and suggested I try a z9. I have had a look at this filter and it and it looks way too big.

The proper Lotus one is longer than the commonly available one as used on Mini and other cars. The diameter is of course the same.

At present I'm using the shorter Mini type.

See QED filters on this page:

Burton Power stock these:

And I use a z48 :)

I think the z25 is the Mini one (which I had previously used for a while).

The z48 is considerably longer.

Don't forget you'll need more oil to cater for the extra volume in the z48.

z62 is the right filter. I think z9 is similar size but has a slightly different ( metric?) thread for its mounting.

cheers
Rohan.
