Hi, having come to the decision to pull the block and rebuild the bottom end myself I'm looking to have the head rebuilt by someone with the requisite skills/equipment as I believe this a job too much for me. Can anyone recommend a machine shop in the Kent area?, many thanks, Rob.

Rob,
I have just had head work done, valve seats and guides, by Serdi UK at Uxbridge. The person to speak to is John Dorma. I am pleased with the work, the turn round time of about 2 months, and the general co-operative attitude.
Serdi are not cheap, but much cheaper than doing it twice, which I have just done!
I have not yet reassembled the engine.
Regards,
Richard Hawkins

You don't say where in Kent you are but Baldyns at Biggin Hill refurbished my block a few years ago & have a good reputation - been around for ages.
