Spark plug radio interference plate - want one?

Salut
Just bought a NOS from Ray. Whilst it's new does anyone want a quote for a copy? Got a mate who could make some up - he's got a shop so it would be a pro-quality/exact copy. I'd pass them on at cost plus postage; so nothing in it for me except a small payback for all the help I've received here.

Hello Vernon
I could be interested if 'the price is right' - Do you know if it would fit all models of Elan ?

Vernon, your postings do not make sense! I have confirmed with Ray that he has sold his last plate though... Also interested if the price is reasonable (i.e. less than $25.)

This was the RD Enterprises NOS part:
This is how it looks installed:
Note your plug leads need to go through the back of the head.

Salut les gars
OK, I'll ask my mate for a price.
Err - neither do you!!! Seriously, to make things clear I bought the radio plate that fits in the spark plug well from Ray as pictured by pharisso - he sold it as NOS. He also had the vertical spark plug plate that fits between the back of the engine and firewall, but I missed that one; and he also had some second hand spark plug plates in two parts.
I agree though, Phil - the brevity of forum entries can create misunderstandings.

To be pedantic, from mid to late 1971 the HT leads were lead up over the cam cover and through the centre of the inlet manifold to the distributor, having always previously been lead under the web cast at the rear of the cylinder head. Lotus road test cars from 1972 on show leads over the cam cover, with the supression plate slightly bowed as a result.
I guess it depends how 'period correct' you wish your engine bay to look. The engine does look a whole lot neater with the leads led around the back, though.
As I said, pedantic!

That type of cover is fitted to my car although the plug leads go around the back of the engine/head.
Out of interest, when I used the car the interference on the radio from the ignition was dire. All the aluminium plates are fitted and a decoupling capacitor fitted between the coil and earth. Am I alone with this issue? I can't think that the cover mentioned above is very successful as it's not bonded (ie bolted) to the engine and hence earth whilst the plate around the coil looks rather lame!

I can't remember ever using the radio in my S1 - so I haven't fitted the "contraption" shown in my picture above.
In my younger days, with the roof off, I used to throw a tape recorder in the car and play the sound track from 'A Clockwork Orange' at full volume - especially Beethoven's 9th.
It definitely made the car go much quicker.

Bad news - my mate can only fold short lengths of metal. I'll ask around a bit more.
