Does someone have a pairof elan TC engine mounts handy they could measure
and tell me what the difference is between the carb side mount and the exhaust side.
I have a feeling the carb side mount is about 12mm or 1/2" taller... but not quite sure.

Hi Mark
After all these years of owning the elan I have never taken
the measurements of the eng mounts.
You may remember some time back I posted about a set
of poly urethane eng mounts fabricated for the elan, well
I had the first shake down drive yesterday and I am
not at all happy with the urethane mounts, the vibrations
sent through the chassis and body are excessive.
So it's back to the std mounts, but with a difference,
I am thinking of cleaning up and preparing the old
mounts to accept urethane which will be poured
into the cavity where the rubber would normally be.
I am waiting for a reply from the Aussie company
that supplies this material and if they can supply it
in a 1KG two part pouring pack.
There is quite a bit of prep work involved but I am
willing to give it a go... Hence the need for the engine
mount specs so that I can set up the holding jigs
correctly.
Thanks for your feed back... hope it's not to cold in
Iowa... we are heading for 40C today, (104F to you guys)
.. and that's in the shade!!

I am not getting overly accurate with this as it I think you are close to the difference. 7/16 inch to a half or 12 mm is about right. The picture on the right is the Lotus mount on a 12 mm piece of Baltic Birch and the mounting holes are close. the mounts are face to face in the picture.
