I got too thinking. What if Ford decided too stop making the Lotus blocks..........so I ordered a couple to have them just in case.
I like to spend my money in Arizona since our Federal government is trying to sue that state from protecting themselves.
I called too AMP Performance and talked too the owner Tom Thompson. A very helpful guy.
The blocks ship out from Michigan and AMP is a Ford authorized dealer.
I have no affiliation with Ford or AMP. Just thought it good information for us in North America.

O.K fellers,
As the block came out of the container, photo's as promised. They will be pickled until I need them......if ever.
I am indeed a parts whore.

I wish someone would post some info one building one of these, at least get the cylinder walls checked for thickness with a sonic tester to see what they will bore to. I suspect that they may go to 85mm but who knows.
Old worn out blocks are for lamps and paint, New blocks are to dump lots of money into, make noise and put a damn big smile on your face.

Hi Gary
I have measured up the wall thickness of a couple of these blocks that a friend purchased and shipped to Australia and posted the results - cant remember where in what thread but you will find if you search . In summary they are no different from all the other Ford blocks I have measured and are close to the average results i have gotten across many blocks.
i.e The two I measured would go OK to 83.5mm bore like most orginal Ford blocks but wall thickness was starting to get marginal beyond that. They would certainly not go to 85mm with adequate wall thickness.
These days buying one of these blocks versus buying 3 old blocks at $500 plus each if you can find them to get one good 83.5 mm bore racing block is probably the best way to go. Especially as you also need to line bore the old blocks to take steel caps or the later square caps at about the same cost again where as the new blocks come with that already done.
However I wont be doing that as I have enough good old blocks to last me my lifetime as I did a lifetime spares buy a few years ago when I saw the price of old 1500 blocks reach $100 at the wreckers here in Australia and figured it was time to keep a few on the shelf. I got a little carried away and have about 15 single blocks now who want to be turned into engines and who keep making lustful eyes at the good looking unmarried twin cam heads I keep stored on the shelf at the other end of my workshop to protect their innocence from these blocks advances
cheers

It is worth mentioning again that the crankshaft thrust bearing arrangement has been changed so that Pinto 2 litre bearings are used, two in the block and two in the center main cap. The only obvious machining requirement left to the buyer is boring and honing to final cylinder bore diameter.
