Oil filters

PostPost by: steveww » Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:27 pm

Does anyone know which oil filters are suitable for the later twinc engines i.e. cartridge spin on types.

My local parts supplier does not list them but my guess would be that a Ford type unit for a Kent engine would fit just fine????

From the GGLC Parts Interchange List at www.gglotus.org -
Fram PH2870A, AC PF34, Purolator PL20252 or L20252, Wix 51327
It crosses to a VW Rabbit/Jetta...

Just looked at Burtons catalogue - they list an original motorcraft filter also, part no EFL500 (also for x flo/cvh/bda). So presume u can go down yr local Ford dealer & get off shelf ? jon

I used Purolator L20252 and cross referenced it to a K & N HP-2005 (not yet installed it). The HP-2005 is a little longer so we will see if it fits.

Looking through the numbers I've written down over the years I can add
Motorcraft Z-FL-269
WIX 51318
Motorguard MG5
Ryco Z62

I suspect most of these don't mean much outside NZ but there might be something useful there.
I've written down just about every part no. that has gone into my car over the years to make replacement easier. Some are possibly still valid so feel free to ask.
Good luck and Merry Xmas from New Zealand.

I have got a Unipart Filter Part number GFE443.
From my local motor Factors, called Partco here in Bournemouth UK.

( they stock loads of them as they are quite common)

Interesting the Unipart GFE443 comes out as a mini A series part. From what Jonh C is saying my theory that it is the same as the Kent engine sounds good. It also appears to be the same as the Ford CVH engine. This means any motor factor will stock these.
