Heads

PostPost by: LL » Thu Dec 15, 2005 4:16 pm

Guys,

Decided not to go down the route of fitting valve seals but to get the guides replaced, looks like they have excessive wear. My local machine shop is blitzed out, can anyone recommend someone who can do this for me, preferably someone who knows the TC head.

I'm down in West Sussex so closer the better really but I can courier it anywhere around the country if they can get it done quick smart.

Cheers,
Neil

Have a word (or more likely a few hundred!) with Miles Wilkins

He wrote THE book on twin cams and can't be that far away. If not i'd be very wary of trusting the post or a courier with anything as rare as a TC head. The chances of it going missing or getting damaged this time of year with all the temporary staff floating around are very high. In addition packing a head properly fastened down in a packing case takes a lot of time.

Nowhere near you, but I used these guys for a head rebuild (new valves, guides and seats) and was very pleased with them. I got the parts from Paul Matty and they did the job; they know a thing or two about aluminium, too.

Its an impressive web site, but in fact a small and friendly company in Avonmouth near Bristol.
