Removing old Crackle Paint for the Cam Cover

Hi All
Can anyone recommend the best way to remove crackle paint from a TC cam cover. About a third of the paint has already flaked off but the remainder is stuck firm. Will Nitromores work? Or should I just scrape it off using a sharp scraper? I aa intending to repaint with new crackle finish paint.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Regards
Andy

Andy,
I used a wire wheel mounted on my 8" bench grinder. To get to the hard places, I used a smaller wire wheel (probaby 3") mounted on my air die grinder.

I'd second that. I use a brass wire brush to get into the awkward places, wear goggles though as the nitromors can splash if you get vigorous with the brush!

Yes, as the above posts.
I used Nitromors on mine, make sure its the "water washable" type in the green can.
Wash/scrub with water and dry.
I used a stainless steel hand brush in the awkward corners.
You get a pack of 3 hand brushes, (like a large toothbrush) stainless, brass and steel from Wilkos. Last time I got some they were a ?1 per pack and I use them all the time.
