Zetec Forum

By now there must be a tremendous amount of information about using Ford Zetec engines in Elans & +2's in various Forums within the LotusElan.net site.
It has occurred to me that it would be useful to dedicate a Forum to ease the retrival of previous postings for people seeking information on this subject.
I have no idea of how much work this would involve Mr. Admin.
It's just an idea.
What do you think?
Regards
John

A general 'Modified' section would do it for me, and would provide a home for posts on installing non-Lotus engines other than the Zetec (for example) - isn't somebody out there putting a Cosworth in?

Thanks for your answers Jeff & Simon,
I agree with you, exactly the same idea occured to me just after I'd sent my posting.
Will it be much work?
I can promise you 12 days of freedom from "pellyposts". Am getting away from BMW for a Holiday & will hopefully find some more time to play with my Elan;-)
Cheers

Although new here, it's obvious to me that most of my posts and questions will relate to modified cars. Mine will be so far from the standard that I won't really be of much help to most people, however I've got a reasonable knowledge of the Emerald ECU which is implanted into the Spyder Zetecs, wideband Lambdas and other more modern issues.
I come from a kit car background, and have spent a LOT of cash developing my K series engine over the past 5 years. Although I haven't any Zetec-specific knowledge (yet) I will learn fast and intend to build a very high power variant. I'd be happy to share this with anyone who's interested.
At the end of the day the +2 is an achingly beautiful car to me, but just not a practical proposition to consider for very high performance applications or long distance touring so far from home. The Spyder "rebuilds" seem to address most issues I might have, but possibly not every issue, so I'd gladly contribute to a "modifications" forum.

Personally I think the forum will be useless if it goes beyond Zetec.
Throw in other stuff (even gearboxes) and it gets too long and
beyond summarizing or understanding.
The other ideas are great, but, IMO, belong in other forums, not the
'Zetec Forum'. FWIW.

Davea,
you're on my wavelength. Other Forums for other special areas of modifications would also be of great help in reducing the search time to access specific information.
My suggestion was really a "food for thought" idea.
The Forum Administrators will have to make the final decision.
The work of regrouping all previous mails on the various specialist subjects would probably major and I can imagine that they would not look forward to the job.
Well how about it Admin' is it worth the effort?
All the best
