Engine number

Can anyone tell me where the engine number is located on the engine. I can't seem to find any numbers that correspond to the number on the logbook.

It's above the engine mounting on the block (Looks like it's been scratched on by a 9-year old) on the carb-side, & also is usually stamped on the underside of the head - only visible when head's off the block.
