Just got my engine back from Exon Racing today and I'd thought I'd post the results. Excuse the resolution
Torque (max) 113 lbs/ft at 5100 rpm Power 133 bhp at 6900 rpm. Spec as follows, Sprint profiled cams, gas flowed head, Ashley 4 into 2 into 1 manifold, 10.5 CR, removable water pump.
Torque curve seems flat over rev range, would be interested in comments.
By the way Paul is a really really nice guy to deal with and I would certainly do so again. He is ex QED workshop manager.
cheers

You will find that with the installed engine on a rolling road dyno that actual power to the rear wheels will have peaked around 6000 to 6500rpm. The losses in the gearbox, diff and rear tyres are rising at least as the square of the rotational speed and these additional and rapidly rising losses turn the hp curve over earlier in actual use. So not much point revving beyond 6500rpm .
It looks like a nice healthy Stromberg engine. Interested to see the maximum ignition advance of 29 degrees at 3500 rpm at lot of people run much higher advance on a Stromberg head which I always thought looked excessive.
cheers

I mentioned to Paul the rpm's and he advised to keep at 6500/6750 as ynot much point going higher. As for the ignition advance the dizzy is a 43D so not sure what the max advance is on that unit, I still have the origional but it needs a refurb which I will do shortly. Any ideas where to send one in the UK (only the springs are worn all else good). I know Paul was pleased eith the torque curve but I havn't seen another Stromberg/weber/dellorto one to compare with... anybody got one I could look at??
thanks

You may probably be right in this case, although I'd like to see the actual peak revs for rear wheel power figures before deciding. Rear wheel power is the basic rolling road read-out. There is a peak in the graph somewhere !

Mark,
Send the dizzy to: http://www.h-h-ignitionsolutions.co.uk/technical.htm
Just tell them exactly what you want.

I second the nomination for H&H ignition. I have used them in the past and received great service.
You may want to consider going for a 123 fully electronic dizzy. See http://www.steveww.org/index.php?id=145
