Oil filler cap quick fix

Hi my oil filler cap has just decided to gush oil everywhere. The rubber sealing ring is hard and brittle, have bent the tabs up, turned the pins in the cam cover around around put some silastic either side of seal but still leaking.
Will order replacement seal from UK (unless local Oz owners can point me somewhere local).....but just wondering, has anyone come up with a quick fix (or even a permanent fix) non-lotus part solution....?

I replaced my oil cap with a screw on cap from JAE in the USA. $35 USD.
It's polished aluminum and has sealing ring under the cap. You have to cleanly remove the pins on the rocker cover and it is a press fit. No leaks

Dave Bean sells the oil shield that fits on the cam bearing studs.
It helped reduce oil loss.

Here is a link to a modification made by the Elan Factory on your side of the world. Have not used, not associated, etc. If the specific link does not work, it can be found under "product datasheets".
