no initial oil pressure TC

There is one thing that has not been mentioned. If the oil pressure relief valve is not seated in the pump, you will never be able to build the vacuum to raise the oil out of the sump. I have another engine, wich uses a pump similar to the TC and has a problem with the pressure relief valve sticking open. It is easy to fix, as access to the piston is from outside the pump. The problem bacame so bad, I installed a one-way valve in the pickup tube to prevent oil drain back, thus keeping the pump in prime all the time.

I HAVE OIL PRESSURE...
Thanks for everyone's help. I primed via the oil pressure sender without luck..
Then left it for a week.
Turned her over and immediately got 60 psi!
I am guessing that the drain backed oil from galleries primed the pump!
now I just need to check the ignition, fit the carbs and try and fire her up!
I wonder what issues there will be with that
Cheers

I've got a spare (blanked off) port on my dry sump pump on an engine, so I figure a hose and fitting into the port with the pump nozzle from the 20 litre oil drum clamped into the hose will allow a fairly reasonable priming of the galleries.

Recently primed my engine as had it open, this is my setup with garden spray + hose/clips to the oil pressure take off. Not expecting to see oil pressure until engine runs but ensures the bearing surfaces are lubricant before turning over.
