It?s a bit tight, but there is some give when it?s on. It "rolled" on easily on the second try.

The S1 Esprit belt arrangement is identical except you have to lie on the engine and fit it deep down a 50 mm gap between the front of the engine and the firewall. :roll: Done it twice in 40 years and the time is coming to do it again :shock:

I find it easiest to fit one of the pulley bolts with the belt in place and then turn the engine until another pump pulley bolt lines up.

ON a twink the smaller race crank engine pulley improves the clearance on the tacho drive as well as slowing the water pump down to design speed in a 9000rpm engine. I have a front cover that has a tacho drive that is blanked off as i dont use it but a flat is needed on the blanking plate on the belt side if used with a standard crank pulley.

When you fit the pulleys and belt if using the standard arrangement you may find it fouls the belt also :D
