Flywheel ringgear replacement tips...

I have recently fitted a new flywheel ringgear.
I put the flywheel in the freezer for a few hours, and the ringgear under the cooker GRILL. I initially tried the oven, but it just didn't heat it enough!
I was surprised to find that my fears about getting it on straight and fully home against the flywheel lip were unfounded. Once on and cooled, it was still easy to hammer it home for perfect alignment.
Just thought I'd let others know that it IS a simple job for the DIY-er...

The 40's weren't still attached to the head at the time were they Kenny....?
As for ring-gear, do you think it is possible to overheat them?
For the couple I've done I was a little cautious as I wondered if too much heat might anneal them a bit and loose some hardness. One I had done by an engine recon. place came back blue.
After that I did my own.
