A postscript on engine mounts.

The one situation where the exhaust side engine mount is often used on both sides of the engine is for 1600 blocks. As these blocks are typically 1/2" taller than the standard block (there are actually 2 heights for tall blocks - depends on which casting it is), fitting the standard inlet side mount often results in the cam cover fouling the bonnet, hence using the exhaust side mount on the inlet side usually provides the right clearance.

The spacers appear to be made of metal and are about 3.5 cm in overall diameter and about 1 cm thick. Like a thick washer. The rubber insulation is provided by the transmission mount. I cut mine out of aluminium stock with a hole saw, then drilled the center hole to size.
