I just replaced my stock flywheel and ring gear with an aluminum Fidanza flywheel. The stock flywheel and ring gear is 14 lbs.; the Fidanza lightweight flywheel and ring gear is 8 lbs. (I've noticed no loss in driveability.)

Gary-
Are you able to confirm the 14lb weight of the original? Was it an unmodified original?
That seems light relative to my vague recollection...and I don't have one "out of the car" to verify.
Probably just my memory fading in my old age...

just weighed flywheel from stock 1558 standard '66 twincam.
Weighs in at 16lb (sixteen pounds) with starter ring gear & clutch location dowels.

John, assuming my scale is correct, the flywheel on my Sprint that I just had replaced two weeks ago weighs 14 lbs including ring gear. I assume its stock, but I'm the third owner so who knows. Looks stock to me.
