Thrust bearing clearance

I have decided that making a pair of thrusts from lead/ bronze may be ok, but untried, so have discounted that path.
Now have Chase Engines of Newcastle under Lyme building up one thrust as Rohan suggested. They will first remove the bronze and build up the white metal on the steel backing. Again, as Rohan suggested only the non thrust side will be increased in thickness, leaving the +0.010 new bronze Vandervell on the clutch side.
