And yet another pic.
Regarding the air filter I bought the black and yellow hose and the filter and made a bracket.

Hi Sean,
I'm very sorry.
I have re-read that which you wrote & have realised that I misread your first statement regarding flow rates.
At that time, I was like yourself, thinking we've gone full circle here & my missinterpretation of your posting lead to my reply; which now on reflection was totally unnecessary.
To put the records straight I have corrected my reply; not having found the delete button.
It was because I thought we were at loggerheads about coolant flow rates that I did the shouting & regardless of being right or wrong it was inconsiderate & very ungentelmanly of me.
For that I appologise not only to you but to all on the Forum.
Needless to say I'm sure that I'm not alone in saying that I'm pleased that you did decide to reply & as such drawing my attention to my error & bad behaviour.
My appologies to all
John

All the best.

Thanks for the pics Carlos. I'm going to have a go at trimming the rad this afternoon. I've attached a few piccies. I had it painted black by the supplier. They left off the filler neck and gave me a discount for the priviledge - they assemble them to order. The kenlowe fits to sturdy lugs on the body of the rad. I had a radiator fall apart once due to the weight and vibration of the fan; it was mounted through the cooling fins using nylon locking ties. I've run the new Kenlowe fan from a power supply, and it's very very smooth, so I'm sure this set up will be fine. I asked them to fit lugs for the other side too, but held off on the second fan until I'm sure I've room; my car seems to reject fitting of parts - it's too comfy in the garage!

I have the body of an athlete, and am often mistaken for Patrick Swayze. These days I have my athletic body protected under a layer of fat and actually, now I come to think of it it's been a long long time since I was compared to the dirty dancing bloke. Oh no, I'm a middle aged fat bloke. Bother!

Oh, come ON guys!!
Anyway, back OT, what's wrong with the (S2) original Marston with a two bladed prop?
Worked OK for me commuting to the smoke in the hot summer of '76.

(OK, I did replace the pump fan for am old MGB electric thingy later but only 'cos the two blade did nothing for pump bearings)

A friend of mine here in Ontario used this product in his twin cam 7 & is also using it in his recently rebuilt Europa. The product is Evans NPG+. It is made by Evans cooling systems inc, Sharon, Ct. 06069 & is a synthetic product. Because the heat transfer is so good he runs the cooling system without a pressure cap, so no stress on the cooling system. It isn't cheap but surely is cheaper than new alloy rads. etc. but not as sexy.
When I finally finish the restoration on my S4 I am going to use this product since the Stromberg cars always run hotter.

Roy,
Yes the fan helps reduce the bearing life even further and it also consumes a surprising amount of power and, most of the time, it's not required in normal driving except when stuck in traffic.
