Although I'm an originality freak that's impressive.

The pics were taken before my seat belts were fitted as I have a young un in the back normally. Car was orange when I bought it and I can't stand all black interiors so thought I would spice it up all is in leather. Car went from this
To this
Ending up like this
As for links to orange I started out my football career playing for Blackpool and my partner is Dutch!

Can you tell whether an engine is an SE or not by the engine number prefix?
Yes, the letter on the block denotes the engine type as it left the factory (hopefully ). Later engines also had the letter stamped on the head in the spark plug area. The aforementioned Twin-cam book lists all the versions and the letter used to denote such..
I could be wrong but I dont think you can tell the engine spec by the engine number on the earlier cars, they all had LP (Lotus production?) and the LA/LB/LAA/LBA denotes the thickness of the block, the actual number dose'nt help as I've never seen a list equating numbers to power output.
The later cars (Sprint/Europa and later +2's) have a code letter, the chassis number/letters should give you a better idea of the spec.

You could always check th cams for the identification rings.
