Engine Smoking

Tom,
As I have said before diagnosis by forum is just guesswork! There are umpteen options when things go wrong with an internal combustion engine and it's components.
However brake fluid could be leaking from the servo to inlet manifold pipe for instance if there is an excess of it. Or possibly the the brake servo pipe that runs between the servo and the inlet manifold is leaking or maybe fractured!

Not wishing to be rude but without physically seeing the car it is virtually impossible to come up with definitive answers. We can only give idea's and there are thousands of permutations. It is just that 50years of working in the motor trade gives some of us stronger guesses than maybe others who have perhaps not seen it all before.

Hi

I am going to add my guess. A cold engine within 60 seconds leads me to think coolant or brake fluid on the exhaust manifold. Copious amounts of smoke leads me towards a coolant leak above the exhaust.

Can you see evidence of water weeping from the thermostat housing?

Hope it gets resolved easily in any case.

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

The clutch slave cylinder or flexible line can leak onto the exhaust and brake fluid will generate lots of smoke. it can also ignite and catch fire so you need to find the source.
