The Lotus part numbers for these are 050 K 0063 and 050 K 0064. Another important item is the pair of blanking plates which help to lessen the amount of air that "leaks" over the top of the radiator brackets when you want all of the air entering the nose to go through the radiator core. The Lotus part numbers for the blanking plates are A050 K 0082 and A050 K0083. I see there is also a set of these blanking plates also on eBay.

It would seem that I have the earlier wide radiator therefore all I require are 050 K 0063 and 050 K 0064 to replace my bodged ali brackets, if anyone has these spare let me know.

I saw the blanking plates last night at the link posted by draenog above, however they are no longer showing today.

Hi Robin

If it helps, my car is a ,73 Plus 2 130S/5, The radiator is 16" wide and the picture shows the mounting brackets.

If the parts are available from one of the normal classic Lotus suppliers, Sue Miller or Paul Matty etc, I'd always go there rather than a Triumph specialist. Lotus parts often unique in spite of often looking similar and it just a myth that they'll be more expensive because they're for a Lotus

Regards
Andy

My radiator width is 22 1/2". According to the parts book this changed to the smaller one at chassis number 0928 (build date September 3rd 1968). Mine is 1164 (build date November 28th 1968). So theoretically I should have the narrow radiator but why would someone replace the later (presumably better) radiator with an earlier one ?. I guess change dates are never as clear cut as stated in the book, there is around three months between the official change date and when my car was built, maybe still just using up what they had on the shelf ?. Anyway I would like to retain this radiator therefore all I require are the two 90 degree brackets (050 K 0063 & 0064), not the wider mounting plates. They do look simple enough to remake but I would like to find an original pair if at all possible.

The later one is smaller and has lower capacity, so not unusual to swap them out for bigger radiator. Especially for cars in warmer climates. Which is what I've done.

That's a possibility however this car has been in a cold and dreich Scotland from day one so conditions haven't exactly been hot :D . It's also still running the fixed mechanical two blade fan so I would think if a previous owner had wanted to upgrade the cooling system they would likely have also fitted electric fans. Either way I want to use this radiator (after having it re cored) so would like to mount it with the correct brackets if possible, even if they are just a couple of bent pieces of steel with holes in them.
