I , temporarily, swapped blocks in my car and the previous owner of the block I put in had removed, for some reason..., the Allen headed socket screw at the end of the oil gallery that supplies the original single cam.
Hidden behind the front covers of course.
And, you can pull those covers without lifting the head as I discovered.
I was in no mood at midnight to mess around as I needed the car for work the next day.
There were no dire consequences !
