Can you not drill a hole near the centre of the cam follower, screw in a stud extractor and pull on that?
Just an idea, never tried anything like that.
If the valves seal fairly well, how about compressed air in to the port, it should go up the leaky valve stems and blow the follower out. You would need to male a plate with air fitting for an inlet port and an exhaust port.

The buckets are around 60 to 70 Rockwell C. You would need to grind the hole somehow I think but I guess its possible but a lot effort and easier to weld something on. Provided you could get the valve to seal it should be possible to try blow them out with air like you say, just need be careful you don't create a missile when it lets go!

I gathered that from your description of using the great hammer on it. The drift comment was just to suggest that you'd need a flat insert for the air hammer similar to what I have using the rivet tool. As you stated it's the repeated actions that will loosen it. Good luck.

Salut
Thanks - I found something similar and it worked on an adjustment bolt in my wife's mini that I had soaked with everything else. I was a bit worried when some of it dribbled down the nozzle onto my hand but nothing untoward resulted - guess it needs gas expansion to get cold.

If this stuff is half as good as the ad says, it's the greatest invention since beer and that other thing that we like a lot. I'm getting some in the a.m.

He shoots ! He SCOOOORES ! (as we say in Canada).
My friend Robert (black Ian Walker Elan, Lotus 23E) and all around great mechanic was over yesterday and we gave my #2 twink head some more TLC with the 4 pounder and a hardwood drift. After the love we were able to grab the edges of the buckets with some channel locks (slip joint pliers ?) and wiggle them out. I suspect that the last month of them sitting in the 50/50 acetone/transmission fluid mix didn't hurt either.
Thanks for all your help, it is much appreciated.
Best Regards,
Jonny
