Engine rebuild costs

Nothing that you have said would make me consider a bottom end problem.

When oil pressure is lost the first thing you hear is a terrible death rattle from the hydraulic lifters that in fact has caused no harm whatsoever, only if you completely ignored this and continued racing around a track could you possibly harm the bottom end which is unlikely as even if you were deaf the engine would misfire and be well down on power due to the restricted valve opening.

Fix the oil leak, resolve the electrical problem, start the engine and go and lock yourself in a soundproof room with your drug of choice while the engine pretends to be tortured, when you finally come out she will be idling sweetly and silently.

That sounds encouraging.

I tried to upload a clip of the engine running to you tube last night but failed. I'll try again and let you know.
