Compression test results on '67 +2

I checked all the tight ones - I basically did them twice.

Sadly, they are thight.

I check head bolt torque too before measuring. I guess they probably haven't been done for a long time.

Hi.
With tight clearance on No1 I would budget for new cam bearings!
A tip you may find useful. Set up cam wheel marks as manual then tie wrap both wheels to the chain before undoing anything.
For what it?s worth.

If tight clearance on #1 might indicate worn cam bearings (presumably at the front) why wouldnt't other clearances be similarly tight?

Can I also assume that, though not ideal, this tight clearance isn't necessarily going to cause any destruction? Or is this a 'do not run the engine until adjusted' problem?

You can be sure that the tight clearances will not affect your compression readings in anything other than a theoretical and de minimis manner.

The clearances will reduce slightly when hot thus if they are too small there is a risk of burning out valves/seats, best to check them when hot to be sure.
