oily alternator

Has anyone figured out how to stop oil from misting out along the dipstick and slowly knocking out the alternator? The sparkplug boot idea doesn't do it.

This is almost certainly not the problem but on my car I had a similar problem and eventually discovered that I had put a bolt in the front cover which was too long and was bottoming out before it was tight (It was the one which goes up into the cover above the alternator) I was convinced it was coming out of the dipstick hole.

I have fitted a spark plug shroud too ....belt and braces don't ya know

Anyway changing the bolt cured the leak ....now it just leaks everywhere else
