Why are you selling after all the work you've done, Kenny? The car can't be far off finished can it?
I'm sure you could find somewhere to tuck it away for a while if it's space you need.

Hiya Mark, hows it going mate?.
To be brutally honest I really just have got fed up with the project and just can't seem to fire myself up for the last lap.
We are also looking to move house (although our sale has just gone off ) and we've just got too many cars to park up when we eventually move.
Someone will be over the moon with it as I believe that it's a far better bet than a "runner" that needs everything doing to it.
I've not advertised it nationally this being the only place I've mentioned it, just in case I get a second wind.
All the best for Christmas and the season anyway.
Regards,
Kenny

You'll regret getting rid of it. Try getting someone else to finish it ready for next summer. That way, they can take it off your hands for six months to do the work which gets it out of the way while you move house and do all the things that entails - decorating, new kitchen, bathroom, wiring, central heating, damproofing, wet rot/dry rot treatment, rewire, landscape the garden, make friends with the new neighbours. These things are all far more enjoyable than working on the Lotus....
Seriously though, it may make financial sense to spend a couple of grand to get the job finished, or at least MOTable and you may change your mind in the mean time.

My Sprint was first registered on 14/10/71.
The cover reads from the rear.
From some of the other posts, it would seem late '71 was the time of change.
Regards,
Stuart.

Don't forget that date of first registration will be different from date of production. Even though your registration is October 1971, your car may have been made in May or June (or Mar, Apr, Jul, Aug or Sep!).
If Mark is right and only a batch of 50 were made, and assuming they were all used on the S4s converted to Sprint spec by the factory (approx 35 cars), then only 15 odd Sprints had these "forward facing" cam covers. Having said that, I have not taken into consideration the Plus 2S 130s, so maybe even fewer Sprints had these covers.
