Valve seat shatterd after 3400 miles from rebuild!

To All,

Thought I would give an update as I know have things back together and running again. We replaced all the seats with oversized seats. The shop could then machine fit each one to make sure of proper fit. They did an excellent job. They had saved the parts from a motor, a small block chevy, which had dropped a seat running and now I understand how lucky I am. It put a large hole in the piston and bent the rod!
I was also careful on reassembley of the front cover and pushed the front seal in a little deeper in the housing so it will mate with a new spot on the front pulley. Made sure it centered and then tightened front bolts. So far no oil leak.
Thanks to all with your advice and I do have one more question. It looks like the front housing has enough deepth in the seal area that you coul fit two seals back to back in the housing. Might need a slightly thinner seal but this might help on seal leakage . Has anyone tried this application??
