HI
Having had some overheating problems now sorted. I was never sure of the temp showing on the gauge and decided to investigate what the markings relate in actual temperature.
As I had searched the net for the correct sender unit (TT861101 black) fitted a new one with new thermos stat (74 degree). Flushed the system and filled with Blue antifreeze coolant and distilled water. it now runs cooler and during a 22 mile spirited run it remained around the gauge marking 85.
Got out the decade box and injected some resistance values via the sender lead. the results are attached below
