Jackshaft for cam trigger

Has anyone here used the jackshaft for a sensor.
Likely fuel pump lobe?

Haven’t done, my engine if I ever get round to doing it would just run batched injection and wasted spark, but sounds feasible.
Other than having to machine the lobe into a lug for the ecu to be able to see the falling or rising edge it sounds like a good solution.

Yes, I seem to remember there was a write up either in here or the LDC magazine, Chicane. IIRC it was some time ago before I fitted EFI, so that is at least 10 years. He was using COP coils and he modified the dizzy to mount a sensor in.
But why? wasted spark and batch fuel works just fine.
Cheers
John.
