Does anyone know the genuine part numbers for early and late Timing Cases?
A26E705 Timing Case Cover Assembly
A26E361 Timing Case Cover
Is this part number for an early or late model?
When was the change made to the later model?
Perhaps MK2 engine (LP7800~) around March 1967
or earlier?

I posted on here a while ago about what I measured as the half moon seal groove width on my cover which appeared to be wider than what others had measured on theirs. I agree there may have been a change to the sump when the Mk2 Cortina pre-crossflow engine (and consequently the LTC) was updated to a lip type rear seal and 6 bolt crankshaft which initiated these small changes but don't have the hard evidence to confirm
