i apologize if this seems a dumb question. But, I'm refurbishment my heater and just wanted to check that the top leaver that moves Hot-Warm-Cold is the leaver that operates the flap that closes the heater matrix off and on. i.e it closes up against the matrix in the cold position.
Many thanks

Correct Jeff, and the one at the bottom controls the direction (or more accurately stops the airflow to the footwell)

Hi There
Have you stuck with the original matrix or switched to a more modern one? The last one I did I added a modern (Fiesta I think it was) water matrix, but also the Fiesta electric one. Have not wired it all up yet haha. It's also my intention to use an electronic valve to control water flow to the heater. A simple on/off arrangement.
I have a bit of a thing about effective heaters in cars.
All the best

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.
