Tall block S/N location

PostPost by: bettlesr » Sun Feb 05, 2023 10:05 pm

I have a '65 S2 with a Spyder chassis and a tall block engine. The block is from a early Pinto and bored .070 over. I need to find the engine S/N on the block. Does anyone know where it may be? The block has been decked. The block casting is 711M6015BA and T9 with a casting date of 1018.
There appears to be a small flat area on the top of the block. If it was there it is gone.
Thanks
Dick

Unfortunately that's exactly where it was. Impossible to know what the number was unless unless you have the paperwork for the pinto and that the engine / chassis number was written on the car's paperwork. In some UK Fords the engine number was part of the chassis number.
