S4 Silencer

What silencer would an S4 be fitted with when new? My 69 S4 looks like it may have had a transverse silencer early in its life. There’s the remains of an exhaust hanger that seems to coincide with the attachment point of a transverse silencer. Is this possible?

Doubtful as that;s the S3 configuration, but anything is possible !
