Rear sandwich plate

Might anyone know if a sandwich plate for the three hole starter motor is a direct fit for the Elan? ie a two hole starter motor will fit?

Can't see why not. I have a three bolt starter on my Elan at the moment, the bolt pattern of the top and bottom bolts is the same for the 2 and 3 bolt starters.

Every part of a twink engine is available new - bar two: the sump and (lower) rear sandwitch plate! Even these in used form are a rarity.
