Manual fan switch

PostPost by: Donels » Mon Dec 27, 2021 4:04 pm

I am sorting the wiring harnesses prior to reassembly of my +2S 130 with the later wiring. The main harness in the engine bay has been hacked about and modified giving cause for much head scratching. I've stripped it all back to an almost standard harness and it now makes more sense. I am ordering a new harness but I have one outstanding issue. My car has a Kenlow manual fan switch, which I had assumed was standard but there is no such switch in the wiring diagram. Is it a standard fitting and if so how is it wired? I assume via the switch to earth from the thermostat switch.

The switch is not standard. My guess is it provides some kind of switched ground for the fan or relay, but you'll need to figure out what it does yourself.

Hi Dave, I do not remember there being a manual fan switch in my S130/5. This is the wiring from the shop manual:
FanCircuit_Fed_Plus2S_Cropped.JPG and

Note that full current is going through the fan switch.

When I restored my Sprint's wiring this is how I rewired it:

Note the Fan switch just switches the relay & the wiring includes the option to add a switch & indicator light in the cockpit.
