Stainless Steel Exhaust

Hello Gentlemen,
In 1986 I fitted a new Stainless steel exhaust to my Elan made by Double SS Exhausts, Cullumpton, Devon. Their exhausts are sold with a life time guarantee. Last month I pulled my engine out and noticed the exhaust intermediate pipe and the Y piece were very badly corroded. I contacted Double SS and tongue in cheek said this was a serious complaint,"""The exhaust only lasted 35 years and 500,000 miles."""" I was not asking for it to be replaced under guarantee. However, this week a new exhaust system was supplied to me free of charge. In my opinion this was above and beyond the call of duty and I was very impressed. I am building another Elan at the moment, guess whose exhaust system I will use!!
