Loss of power after pulling away at junction.

Hi all,
I have just returned from a reasonably sporty drive around the winding bumpy back roads of Lincolnshire. The car was running well until I stopped at a junction and set off on a left turn. The engine just gently slowed with no throttle response. After a short while it picked up but was rather disconcerting. I tried the same manoeuvre on some empty road junctions with the same result. At one point the engine stopped completely after starting to pull away but ran ok when restarted. The car pulled well in a straight line or when moving up and down the gears. Any ideas? I have a standard Plus 2 breathing through Dellortos with electronic ignition fitted. The car was recommissioned by Spyder a couple of years ago after a few years in storage but has covered 2000 plus miles since then without issue.

Fuel or spark
Any loose connections around the coil? Resistor?
Have you fitted electric fuel pump, and measured pressure?
Born, and brought home from the hospital (no seat belt (wtf)) in a baby!
Find out where the limits are, and start from there

Thanks, I will check tomorrow, I'm thinking fuel as it was a slow decrease rather than a sudden electrical type loss.

Thinking fuel is good. Check/replace your fuel filter, screens at the carbs if they have them on Dellortos, hose cracks or loose connections between the fuel pump and the tank. Debris at the fuel pickup in the tank.
There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.

Although fuel sounds the issue, I had a similar sounding problem with the 635CSi, it was the carbon contact in the distributor cap disintergrating.
