Engine is dry on both my cars but the +2 wants a Diff input seal doing and my Sprint keeps leaking from the Speedo drive in the gearbox
I know what you mean though, seems to be a constant fix one leak and another starts...... I guess it's the Lotus Anti corrosion system in full effect.

For the leak from speedo drive, is the Breather on the Gearbox blocked
My Elan also had a leak and i discovered it was from the Mechanical Fuel pump. The flange on the Pump was bowed, so i had to file and rub it down flat. Oil had been leaking and running all the way down to the bottom of the Bellhousing. I thought at first it was the Lip Seal on the Crankshaft.

Thats a good call. I have "Fixed" the drive oil seal three times now and the leak seems to always come back, i thought it was because the drive assembly was so awkward to fit in situ but that would make sense if the breather was blocked. I will have a look Thanks.

Since my complete rebuild of the S1 not a drop of oil on the garage floor. Of course, now that I said that something will start leaking......
On the other hand, the 72 Europa I'm restoring leaks engine and trans oil sitting on the dolly. Not for much longer!

...........the last comment is more like the responces i was expecting! tbh i was expecting better from my alfa assistant! i mounted the impeller according to the posts i read here: so i maxxed the clearance between the impeller and the aluminum o-ring ring and now my engine would run for a week, idling along at 70 degree C! -- just for you folks who are close to that chore sandy 36 4982
