New Ford block maximum bore size

In looking at the specifications on the L and M blocks, the information I have found is, the maximum allowable bore size is 82mm. Has any one tried to increase the bore to 83.5mm, or is 82mm number the limit?

I have measured the wall thickness of a couple of new ford blocks and the maximum I would take those is 83.5 mm. With offset boring you could achieve a minimum wall thickness around 3 mm with this bore which is about what I target for an engine build. There will be some variation in the OD of the bore casting so some blocks may be able to go bigger just like the original ones could
The much more expensive QED blocks have siamesed bores and no cross drilling and should be able to go to the nominal 90 mm bores like the similar design alloy blocks can.
cheers
