No bore thickness stamp

My S1 engine doesn't have the bore thickness stamp that many sources say it should and I was wondering if that is common. At the point where the stamp should be I have a small stamp of b over 248 with a circle around it. The engine block number appears to be LB1832. I'm sure the engine is the original four bolt crank.
Thought's please?

Your Elan left the factory on 30 July 1964, fitted with engine no LP1832. 'Fraid I have no record of the bore thickness. I'm not sure if they were stamped on the early blocks or not - anyone?

Robert:
Cylinder bore measures stock and pistons have "front" stamped on the crown and that is all I believe. I'm quite sure that the engine has never been apart. The car was last licensed in 1980.
Tim: I appreciate that information, I believe there are some build changes around that time though I don't remember what they were right now.
